Product Description
Welcome to this special issue in Malaysian Construction Research Journal (MCRJ), initiated by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) with the selected theme: “Driving the Construction Industry towards Productivity Excellence”. Researchers and professionals from universities, R&D centres, businesses, and government sectors were invited to share research findings on any topic related to sustainable construction for this Special Issue.
Both original research papers and review papers are welcome. All the submissions have gone through a peer review process before publication. This special issue elucidates the potential of offsite manufacturing or Industrialised Building System (IBS), a well-known term used in Malaysia, in promoting excellence in productivity.
This special issue complements to the lastest research conducted by CIDB and CREAM in developing a Productivity Measuring Tool (PMT) which aims to measure and monitor the productivity of building construction projects in Malaysia. One of the objectives of the development of PMT is to identify the productivity difference between conventional method of construction and modern methods of construction such as IBS.
